Deliberate insecurity

Published on June 6, 2025 in General

The call to freedom for almost everyone is loud.

Everyone wants to be free in some way. Free from fear, or insecurity, or hunger, or terror, or death.

But that freedom, which points to a deeper yearning, can manifest in a multitude of ways.

It can seek solace in the safe harbor of convention and rules, of dogma and instruction. Or it can find flight.

To fly, perhaps one must relinquish. Relinquish mental ties to the longing for security. Because only in the depths of insecurity and fear and change is there a complete letting go of that yearning.

Which in some sense must parallel the freedom that is so desperately sought.

The difference then perhaps is one of gentle intention. Deliberate insecurity rather than a forced one.
