Fatigue and vulnerability
Fatigue is exhausting. A comically obvious statement. But so often wrapped in statements about burnout, stress, anxiety. All pointing to the same thing: that mental fatigue alters your perception of the world around you.
Implying both that the world is viewed inside out, but also that the effects are often outside in.
The external world is a demanding place, and even more so when the demands of the world are placed above the demands of your interiority.
If you aren’t able to shield yourself and cocoon your values in an endless dance of vigilance, then over time the winds will weather you. To the point where you won’t be able to function.
The system implies you are to blame. If only you did what you were told. Well, then you wouldn’t have these issues. Further compounding your vulnerability.
Perhaps the answer is a reframing.
That environment matters.
That you aren’t indefatigable.
That choices matter.
Alignment matters.
Internal alignment matters.
