True friendship
The friend has no agenda. Serving no purpose. No desire is fulfilled by the friend.
For if the friend had an agenda they are not a true friend. Exploitation and friendship are opposed, for it undermines the purity of the partnership; of the companionship.
Walking a path of rebellion is a lonely affair on a pathless path. It doesn’t go anywhere, it doesn’t need anything and it doesn’t ask of anything.
But in that it is the least lonely of paths. Because it sees all others as friends, struggling on their own paths. But in that aloneness it doesn’t ask anything of the other. It is nourished and sustained by its own wisdom and confidence.
It’s only on such a path that there can be true friends. Only on such a path does authenticity meet authenticity. Unmediated and direct. Open and pure.
Demand nothing. Receive nothing. But have everything.
