The rebellion of nature

Existence within nature is always living in a carefully balanced state of fragility.

Or is it?

Perhaps it is, from the relative point of view – from the perspective of the thing that appears to be living within nature, especially if a separation is created from nature, as our modern society seeks to do. To say that we exist outside and away from nature, that nature is to be tamed – then yes, from this perspective, there is a sense that we are fragile. A sense that nature is a chaotic and dangerous holding container, and that we should seek to tame it.

But that is only a matter of perspective.

Another perspective sees you as part of a nature, walking an undefined path to nowhere. This isn’t some form of nihilism – far from it. Instead, it positions you firmly as part of the complex texture of nature, a part of its play. There's no need to tame; it's better to enjoy the ride, enjoy the view.

From this perspective comes a recasting of the view that the holding environment is fragile. If anything, it is incredibly powerful, worthy of awe, deeply humbling in its vast but singular scope.

The rebellion comes in deriving power from what an alternative view sees as powerlessness.

Perhaps rather than being lost, one can draw immense strength from the vastness.
