Loss and struggle
Both are a deep part of existence. The profound deception is that society repeatedly claims that loss can be averted and suffering can be avoided if only you follow its suggestions. The market in particular sells you antidotes to suffering, uncertainty, and insecurity.
The joke is: it can’t.
Of course it can’t. These are fundamental parts of how the universe functions. If change is inevitable and a natural part of the unfolding of life, then suffering is a perspective of when change doesn’t align with desires.
The antidote is the acknowledgement that there isn’t one, followed by an internal re-alignment that desires will come and go, change will be constant, the present moment is all there is, and insecurity is a byproduct of all that.
Society, the market, or any dogma can’t afford you that acknowledgement, as their very existence requires that not be the case.
As always, the choice is yours. The relationship to underlying truths is yours.
