The Pathless Path

Published on April 2, 2025 in General

So much of self-help and wisdom in contemporary society is offered as a salvation. Sold and packaged as something that can be consumed like an opioid: for instant relief if only you 'got it'.

But like fast food it rarely satiates. It offers a quick snack and then an equally quick rush to hunger. Few sit and question why? Why does this advice, often well-meaning and well packaged fall short of the mark. Why does so little change. The answer rarely lies 'there', but 'here'.

Similar to fast-food; because that's not its aim. It's aim isn't to provoke deeply. It's aim is self-serving, it aims purely to satisfy the urge and thirst of the originator for whatever end they have in mind. You, therefore, become merely a commodity in that path.

The pathless path is something altogether different. The same advice, internalised, chewed over, considered and tested becomes wisdom. But it becomes wisdom because it isn't consumed, it's savoured.

Then everyone and everything becomes a teacher. A fundamental recasting of the relationship between you and the rest of the world.
